
A block of flats in north-west London has been evacuated after a large fire spread from a neighbouring electricity substation.
About 80 residents have been led to safety after the roof of the building on Aberdeen Place, Maida Vale caught alight from the blaze which broke out at about 05:30 BST.
No injuries have been reported, although London Fire Brigade (LFB) has urged other local residents to keep their doors and windows closed.
More than 100 firefighters are tackling the flames, which have sent large clouds of grey smoke into the air.
London Fire Brigade (LFB) said it had received more than 160 calls about the fire, which it described as “very visible”.
The cause of the fire is not currently known.

There have been no reports of any disruption to the electricity supply in the area.
UK Power Networks, which runs the substation, said: “Our teams are working with the fire service to make the equipment safe.
“This is an isolated incident and customers’ supplies were not impacted.”
