Boxing: Adam Azim & Sergey Lipinets make weight at second attempt

Adam Azim and Sergey Lipinets made weight at the second attempt for their light-welterweight fight on Saturday in London.

Briton Azim initially weighed in 5oz over, while his opponent Lipinets was a pound above the 10st limit.

Each fighter had two hours to lose the weight and did so, with unbeaten prospect Azim blaming the scales for his initial reading.

“There’s something wrong with the scales, because I weighed in earlier and I was more or less than that,” Azim said.

“It’s all good. Obviously I don’t want to be naked in front of everyone.”

The two fighters will contest the IBO title at Wembley Arena.

Azim, 22, is unbeaten in 12 fights and is looking to step up to world title level in 2025.

Lipinets, 35, has 18 wins, one draw and three losses on his record and held the IBF title in 2017.
