Oli McBurnie: Swansea City consider re-signing their former striker

“We didn’t reach our goal this year and we didn’t manage to stay up so my contract has gone from three years to being up again, so I’m a free agent,” McBurnie told BBC Radio Sheffield’s Football Heaven.

“We’ve got one game left against Espanyol, then next week I’ll head back home for the summer and have a couple of weeks with the family. It’s lovely being out here but, at the same time, it’s hard being away from the family so much. We’ll talk and see what we want to do.”

McBurnie was a fans’ favourite during his first stint at Swansea, scoring 26 goals in 62 appearances.

The Welsh club have already made two signings for the 2025-26 season in the form of winger Zeidane Inoussa and striker Bobby Wales.

The Swans finished this campaign in 11th place in the Championship and made caretaker boss Alan Sheehan their permanent head coach last month.
