Sheffield United: Blades fined £120,000 following melee against Bristol City

Sheffield United have been fined £120,000 following a melee in their 1-1 Championship draw against Bristol City in March.

It was alleged both teams failed to ensure their players did not behave in an improper and/or provocative manner in the 94th minute of the game at Bramall Lane.

The Blades were also fined £80,000 in January having admitted a similar charge following a 2-2 draw with Coventry City.

The charge against the Robins was their fifth non-standard breach since August.

Sheffield United’s punishment followed a hearing by an independent regulatory commission, while Bristol City accepted a standard fine of £5,000.
