Five talking points as WSL returns after international break

Chelsea have pulled seven points clear at the top, but it remains tight between the teams who are battling for a spot in Europe.

The top three qualify for the Champions League. Manchester United are second with 33 points, Arsenal have 30 and Manchester City have 28.

Arsenal boss Renee Slegers has not given up of trying to pip Chelsea to the title.

“We need to believe that, and I do,” she said.

“We have a very exciting block, full of opportunities ahead of us, and we’re going to try and take those opportunities, and that’s within our control.”

Manchester United manager Marc Skinner also remains optimistic, believing that his side can go on to do “magnificent things”.

“The reality is we have been going about our business under scrutiny for many years and probably forever will do. We have learned to get on with our job,” Skinner said.

“There will be good times, there will be bad times. If you treat both of them the same you will be in a balanced position. If we are balanced we are a very good team that can go and do magnificent things.”
